About Me

Who am I?

Howdy!
I’m Mike Bryant, Owner and operator of Mike Bryant Photography.  Thanks for stopping by my website.

I am a Louisville, CO based photographer.

History

I always loved photography as a kid.   My first camera was a Kodak Disc 4000 camera for Christmas in 1982.  I took a ton of pictures, but as a kid without a lot of money to get them developed…. I was pretty bad at it.

When I first moved to Boulder, CO from my home state of Texas (Gig ‘Em Aggies!), I bought my first ‘real’ camera, a Nikon D40.  At the time I was working as a real estate photographer servicing clients along the Front Range with 360-degree virtual tours for property listings.  (iPIX images before the company went under.)  Back then that involved snapping bracketed 185-degree images, building the files in Photoshop to bring out the details, and then stitching the images together manually using software tools.     My photo assignments led to some CD-Rom business card work, so I taught myself some web design as a necessity.  This design work eventually led me to my current career at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics.

As a professional, I’ve worn many hats.  I’ve worked as a personal trainer, a health club manager, a fitness class leader,  a real-estate photographer, a wedding photographer, a wedding DJ,  a Covid-19 era virtual-wedding consultant, a technology sales rep for networking hardware, a health club membership manager, a webmaster & developer, and the manager of 250+ person team of volunteers for the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup.

What I Do Now

I currently work full time for the University of Colorado as a WordPress developer, and moonlight as the Beer Sorting Manager for the Great American Beer Festival as well as the World Beer Cup.

My other jobs keep me very busy, so I’m not actively seeking new photography gigs, but I’m always happy to discuss potential side-projects or assignments.

When not out taking pictures, I can be found playing in nature, DJing, playing synths, stargazing, cooking, video gaming, dancing, and drinking beer.
